CSR

(Corporate Social Responsibility)

People-powered community projects

"I want to say a massive THANK YOU for the hard work of the 12 Capula apprentices – I was truly impressed by how hard every single one of them worked all day. A brilliant team effort!!

What is CSR?

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is when private businesses ‘give something back’. It helps them to be socially accountable, and by practicing CSR, companies can be conscious of the kind of impact they’re having on all aspects of society.

This cross-sector working can also be the start of a beautiful friendship – and it’s great when that happens!

CSR often comes in the form of hands-on help with projects like redecorating a community venue or redeveloping a community garden.

Engaging in CSR and providing people-power to local community projects means that companies are operating in ways that support and enhance communities, organisations that are supporting the people living in those communities, and society as a whole.

Many companies also choose to fulfil their CSR objectives by providing materials, equipment, sponsorship or donations, pro-bono advice, or some other kind of support.

And that’s okay, it’s all CSR and it all helps. It’s what Totally Stoked is all about: communities giving together

Getting started

CSR for private companies

For businesses, the first question is usually “how can we find a suitable project?”

This can be a difficult task for corporate businesses, especially if you’ve never looked into CSR before.

But that’s what we’re here for!

To help support voluntary and community groups in Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire, we act as a broker for CSR opportunities in the area, matching all sorts of businesses with all sorts of projects based on your teams’ interests, skills, and goals.

Don’t worry if you don’t think you have the right experience skills, we’ll be able to help you because:

everyone has something to give!

When it comes to your goals, you’ll need to have a bit of a think about it, whether you’re looking for a cause that’s close to your heart, a particular area you’d like to improve, or a specific community you’d like to help.

Your goal could also be something as simple as a day away from your office to boost staff morale, or give something back to your community.

It’s never too early to get in touch – we can help you identify your goals based on the interests and skills of your team.

Once you’ve got your goals in mind, we’ll match you with the most suitable community projects that are in need of some people-power, and you just need to pick the one that best resonates with you and your team.

From there? We’ll go through the rest of the process with you, make the necessary arrangements, and confirm a date for your CSR day to take place.

Sound like something you want to get involved with?

CSR for community projects

Is your community project in need of some people-power?

Our FREE CSR brokerage service can match your project with local companies that are looking for a project like yours to be able to give something back.

If you’re based in Stoke-on-Trent or North Staffordshire and you have a project that could benefit from an enthusiastic team of volunteers, this is your chance to get some help!

These groups of volunteers can range from office workers, to construction workers – so ideally your opportunity needs to be something where ‘people-power’ is what you really need!

Materials or equipment aren’t always included but don’t worry, if you have a project that needs additional resources, you can get in touch as we might be able to source what you need.

Then, we’ll ‘Dragons Den’ it for you. We’ll present your project to the companies we’re working with and let you know when we’ve found a match.

Communities giving together!

We’ve helped so many businesses and projects to work together on CSR opportunities across Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire, and we want to continue helping projects like yours to get the help and support you need.
