Wincanton joins drive to lower costs and increase retention; announcing an ongoing partnership with Workplace Health Staffordshire.

A business at the heart of the supply chain has seen real improvements in employee wellbeing and retention thanks to fully-funded, in-business health and wellbeing checks through Staffordshire County Council’s Workplace Health programme.

Wincanton, which is a leading supply chain partner for British business, joins many Staffordshire businesses, including Bostik and Carthy Accountancy, to really see the benefit of the support from Everyone Health, who offer professional and non-judgemental expert health checks both onsite and offsite to Staffordshire businesses.

Becky Harper from Wincanton, said:

“We have partnered with Everyone Health since 2022, when they provided workplace onsite health checks for us at our Stafford and Lichfield Distribution Centre. They have been supportive throughout the process; being flexible where they can with our shifts as we are a 24/7 operation.

We are committed to a positive wellbeing culture and our continued partnership with Everyone Health will support our mission as we move forward in 2023.”

Two colleagues from Wincanton received a health check and said:

“I really appreciate this being put on and I thought they were very thorough and took time to consider me as an individual and explained things clearly.

I found it to be very informative. I was given some good advice and helpful and interesting ideas on nutrition, they answered some questions I had and explained how I can help myself and improve my health and fitness going forward; you didn’t have to answer anything you felt uncomfortable with.  All in all I found it to be very well set up and relaxed.”

Two ways to find out how to save money through Workplace Health Staffordshire.

There are lots of resources, both on-site and online, to help you support your team, from mental health support to menopause and musculoskeletal support, and you can find them all in one place  – at  Workplace Health Staffordshire.

But if you’re not clear what health and wellbeing support your team might need right now, there are two things you can do.

The tool can help you to:

  • calculate the annual cost of employee ill health, absence from work and staff turnover,
  • create business cases for workplace health and wellbeing initiatives,
  • estimate the return on investment of setting up a health and wellbeing programme,
  • save considerable costs,
  • go to the Wellbeing Tool.

2) Consider signing up to the Thrive at Work scheme

‘Thrive at Work’ is a free, structured workplace wellbeing awards programme, where your business is recognised for improving the health and wellbeing of your employees. As part of the Foundation Level award, you’ll be supported to completed a Staff Health Needs Assessment survey to:

  • help you understand current staff health and wellbeing,
  • produce findings to inform your future activities, from employee groups to communications,
  • find out more about the Thrive at Work scheme.
