The limited-time pop-up shop in the Potteries Centre is providing free digital skills training and advice to help promote digital inclusion across the city. With a jam-packed schedule, those who struggle using digital tech can Discover Digital, get connected, and step out into the digital world with confidence.
Information on offer includes:
- Getting to grips with social media
- How to use a home printer without getting stressed
- Digital safety
- Basic Photoshop
- IT for parents, and much more…
Also taking place every day is the Community Consultation – a place for people to share their experiences of using digital devices and getting online. This will help the team discover what prevents people from getting online and how the digital experience can be improved to be more inclusive and accessible.
The Discover Digital pop-up shop is run by Staffordshire University and VAST, in partnership with nine other community and education partners.
Open Wednesday to Saturday until May 29, the Discover Digital pop-up shop invites members of the public to drop in for digital support, to discuss with Discover Community Connectors what prevents people from going online, and have a say in the programme of activities. In addition, there is the chance to win some great prizes for repeat visitors.
