Chair of the New Vic Board of Trustees
Unpaid role | Initial 3‑year term (renewable)
The New Vic Theatre is seeking a new Chair of the Board of Trustees as our current Chair retires after long and dedicated service.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role at a successful producing theatre and to help guide the organisation through its next phase of development.
About the Role
As Chair, you will:
Lead the Board of Trustees with a collaborative and supportive approach
Work closely with fellow Trustees and the senior leadership team
Ensure high standards of governance and strategic decision‑making
Champion the New Vic’s mission and future direction
We are looking for someone who believes in the power of theatre and is excited by the opportunity to help shape its future.
Who We’re Looking For
You will bring:
Leadership experience within a professional organisation
A strong understanding of good governance and how boards operate
Experience working with boards as a trustee, executive, or both
A commitment to the Staffordshire and Stoke‑on‑Trent region
The ability to clearly articulate the value of culture and live theatre locally
Previous experience as a Chair is welcome but not required.
Term of Office
Initial term of 3 years
Typically renewable for up to two further terms
