Gardening Volunteer - Supporting Families of Disabled Children
Would you like to help maintain the grounds of our charity’s centre so they look smart, safe, and welcoming for families of disabled children who visit to access support?
We are looking for Gardening Volunteers to join our friendly gardening team and help care for our outdoor spaces.
About the Role
As a Gardening Volunteer, you will help maintain the charity’s grounds to agreed standards, ensuring outdoor areas are accessible and enjoyable for the families who use our services.
What You’ll Be Doing
Carry out horticultural tasks across designated garden areas
Weed all areas of the grounds, including the sensory garden and walled ‘Thank You’ garden
Support general garden maintenance, including pruning shrubs, digging, and hoeing
Help maintain safe access routes, including paths
Follow health and safety guidelines when using tools
Useful Skills and Experience
Previous gardening experience or a keen interest in gardening
Willingness to help and work as part of a team
Energy and motivation
Reliability and commitment
Time Commitment
Gardening sessions take place on Friday mornings
We ask for a commitment of 3–4 hours per week
Minimum commitment of 6 months
