Events Volunteer - Bolton Gate Arts


Bolton Gate Arts is a collaborative, community‑focused arts organisation creating a multi‑disciplinary programme of outdoor arts events where people can relax, learn, and explore. We work with communities across Stoke‑on‑Trent and the Staffordshire Moorlands, championing accessibility, inclusivity, and art for all.
Based at Bolton Gate Farm, on the outskirts of Weston Coyney, our programme includes outdoor theatre, live music, artisan markets, craft workshops, art exhibitions, schools‑based projects, and more.
We are looking for volunteers to support the smooth running of our outdoor events and help ensure the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of all visitors.

 

About the Role
As a Bolton Gate Arts Volunteer, you will support a wide range of outdoor events, acting as an ambassador for the organisation and helping showcase our work within the local community.
This is a casual volunteer role in a fun and supportive environment.

 

What You’ll Do
Volunteer roles are allocated based on events and may include:

Setting up and packing down events
Running the box office
Assisting with parking
Directing and supporting visitors around the farm
Supporting audiences and event activities
Photography support
General event assistance as required

Events may include outdoor theatre, markets, music nights, craft activities, workshops, and more.

 

Skills and Attributes

Good communication skills with a friendly and welcoming approach
A commitment to excellent, inclusive customer service
Ability to support people of all ages and abilities, including families and those with English as a second language
Willingness to work as part of a team and help others
Enthusiasm and willingness to learn new skills
Flexibility and ability to adapt
Ability to use initiative and follow procedures

Minimum age: 18 years
