Role: Kitchen Assistant (Volunteer)
About the Role
Hanley Connect Kitchen provides hot meals and refreshments to people visiting the Hanley Connect hub. We are looking for volunteers to support the day-to-day running of the kitchen by helping to serve food and drinks and maintain a clean, welcoming environment.
About the Volunteering Scheme
This volunteering scheme is developed primarily for Brighter Futures customers, including people with learning disabilities or those who have experienced homelessness, mental ill health, substance misuse, or offending behaviour.
The aim is to help people reconnect with their community while gaining new skills, building confidence, and developing a sense of self-worth. However, people volunteer for many different reasons, and applications are welcome from anyone with an interest in the role.

Role Duties May Include
Getting the kitchen ready to serve drinks by 10:00 am and food by 10:30 am
Serving food and drinks to visitors
Keeping the kitchen and dining area clean and tidy
Taking food and drink orders
Completing daily paperwork
After training, assisting with food preparation and cooking
Additional Information
Training and ongoing support will be provided. Tasks will be introduced gradually and tailored to individual abilities and experience where possible.
