Volunteer Opportunity: Dementia Awareness Raiser

Alzheimer’s Society – Staffordshire

Dementia is the UK’s biggest killer. One in three people born in the UK today will develop dementia in their lifetime.

Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading dementia charity and the only organisation tackling all aspects of dementia. We provide help and hope to people living with dementia today, while also funding groundbreaking research and campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be.

We are looking for volunteers to help raise awareness of the support and advice services we offer to people affected by dementia in their local communities.

What you will do

Support and attend local awareness events

Hold information stands and distribute leaflets

Display information in highly visible community venues such as libraries, GP surgeries, and community centres

Ensure materials in your community are up to date and accurate

Build connections with local organisations and community groups to increase awareness of our services

As a representative of Alzheimer’s Society, you will be provided with branded clothing and may also have the opportunity to feature in event photos to showcase our work in local media.
