Our Young at Heart Social Groups support older people who may be experiencing social isolation and loneliness, offering welcoming spaces, activities, and companionship.
About the Meir Young at Heart Social Group
Venue: St Francis of Assisi Church, Sandon Road, Meir, ST3 7LH
When: Every other Tuesday
Time: 2:00pm – 4:00pm
A well‑established group with over 25 members
Successfully running for 10 years
Supported by a dedicated team of volunteers
We are now looking for additional volunteers to help keep the group running.
Volunteer Role: Caretaker Volunteer
What You’ll Do
Set up tables and chairs before the session
Pack away tables and chairs after the session
Skills & Qualities Required
Good level of health and fitness
Reliable and trustworthy
Motivated and enthusiastic
Good timekeeping
Professional manner reflecting the charity’s values
As a Volunteer, You Will
Be registered with Father Hudson’s volunteering scheme
Respect and value service users’ knowledge, experience, and opinions
Follow safeguarding, confidentiality, health & safety, and other relevant policies
Take part in role‑related training, meetings, and events
