About the Role
Kidsgrove Sports Centre Community Group (CIO) is a volunteer-led charity dedicated to promoting community participation in sport, leisure, health, wellbeing, and digital inclusion. Formed in 2017 and taking ownership of Kidsgrove Sports Centre in 2022, the organisation works to provide affordable and accessible facilities that benefit people of all ages across the local community. We are looking for new Trustees to join our friendly and committed Board and help shape the future of the charity.
What You'll Do
As a Trustee, you will help guide the strategic direction of the charity and ensure it continues to achieve its charitable objectives for the public benefit. Working alongside fellow trustees and staff, you will contribute to decision-making, support organisational development, and help ensure the centre remains sustainable and responsive to community needs.
Responsibilities may include:
Ensuring the charity operates in line with its charitable purposes and governing document
Supporting the development of the charity's strategy and future plans
Acting in the best interests of the organisation and its beneficiaries
Helping manage the charity's resources responsibly
Monitoring compliance with legal, financial, and reporting requirements
Using your skills and experience to support the work of the charity
Acting as a constructive "critical friend", offering support while providing independent challenge where appropriate
Working collaboratively with trustees, staff, and partners to achieve shared goals

Previous trustee experience is not essential. We are looking for people who can bring enthusiasm, commitment, good judgement, and a willingness to contribute to the success of the charity.
