We are a group of dedicated volunteers who are passionate about providing opportunities through sport, leisure and digital inclusion. We operate as a stand alone site, having close links to other similar charitable sports and leisure facilities across the country.The Kidsgrove Sports Centre Community Group (CIO) was formed in 2017 taking ownership for the Kidsgrove Sports Centre in 2022 in order to facilitate the promotion of community participation in healthy recreation for the public benefit, by the operation and maintenance of Kidsgrove Sports Centre, with a view to providing affordable and accessible health and well-being facilities for all. We need new volunteers to join our friendly group of Trustees. This role may vary depending on needs and is likely to include:Ensure the charity is carrying out its purposes for the public benefitDevelop the strategic direction of the charityComply with the charity's governing document and the lawAct in the charity's best interestsManage the charity's resources responsiblyAct with reasonable care and make use of your skillset to the benefit of the charityEnsure compliance with statutory accounting and reporting requirementsAct as a critical friend – be encouraging and supportive but do not be afraid to think independently and challenge others when necessaryUtilise your skillset to the benefit of the charity Liaise with staff and other trustees in achieving these objectives We would particularly like people with experience of:HRCommunity PartnershipsFunding FinanceEducationHealth
You will be required to have a DBS check which will be submitted by ourselves and you will be reimbursed with vehicle travel expenses.
