Description:Would you like to make a difference to children and families in your community? Do you have some job role expertise, or enthusiasm and a willingness to commit? Become a Home-Start Newcastle Borough Trustee For over 20 years, Home-Start Newcastle Borough, a local branch of the national Home-Start charity, (www.home-start.org.uk )has recruited volunteers to work alongside families to give compassionate and confidential support, tailored to each family. Our volunteers are trained by us and are given expert support.We need more Trustees help shape strategic direction, make decisions on activities and finances, taking on tasks to move us forward as an organisation. We are currently looking for new volunteer Trustees with financial acumen as a priority to help us develop our Financial Sustainability Plan. Trustees with ANY of the following expertise are welcome to applyFinance/ AccountancyMediaData ProtectionHealth / Social work / education backgroundRisk ManagementEnthusiasm and willingness to commit Commitment Trustees meet every two months, usually online in the evenings, with at least one Board meeting held face to face during the daytime. We also have sub-groups for items requiring more detail and discussion which feed into the management committee meetings.Trustees may also be required to attend Strategy days, and support tasks, projects or issues relating to their area of expertise or identified interest outside of these meetings.
