Young Enterprise want to help more young people realise their potential and succeed in the changing world of work. We need your support to make this possible. E
Day Programme (Class Mentor) volunteers support young people to develop their financial and enterprise skills within our one-day school-based programmes. Volunteers help to facilitate a group of young people across varied age groups to undertake pre-designed tasks and share their own experiences to help bring the activities to life.
The key activities of the role include:
- Supporting the delivery of a pre-designed workshop with a group of young people
- Attending short briefing and feedback sessions
- Being a supportive and encouraging role model
Where you will be volunteering:
Class Mentors are primarily based in person within the school context, volunteering closely within small groups that may include teaching staff, Young Enterprise employees and other volunteers. Most programmes run for one day, and volunteers can sign up to support as many or as few day programmes as they would like.
A great Class Mentor will be:
- Willing and able to get stuck in to support a group of young people
- Patient, encouraging and open-minded
- Comfortable in the presence of young people (but no specific experience is necessary)
- Able to communicate appropriately with young people
- Comfortable in the use of basic IT
