Description:
As part of CLaY: Communities, Libraries and You Stoke-on-Trent Libraries are setting up Perinatal support groups in libraries. These groups will provide peer support for mums from pregnancy through the 12 months following birth. These groups are designed to provide a relaxed social setting where new and expectant mums can talk to other parents, make new connections and seek support and information.We are looking for caring individuals with experience of being a parent themselves who would feel confident in welcoming new mums and their babies to the group, helping them to make new friends, listening to any worries that they might have and supporting them to find information and support with professional organisations where necessary.Perinatal support groups will also provide a safe space for babies and toddlers to play together, share rhymes, songs and books. Training will be provided by Just Family CIC in the form of 2 half day training sessions and will include trauma awareness. We are looking for:a friendly person with great social skillssomeone who is warm and caring and can engage well with adults and childrensomeone with patience and good listening skillssomeone with knowledge of useful community support services12 months commitment (ideally)
You will be required to have a DBS check which will be submitted by ourselves and you will be reimbursed with vehicle travel expenses.
