Description:Crossroads Care Staffordshire was set up in the 1990s as a charity offering personalised support to unpaid (usually family) carers in North Staffordshire, predominantly in Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme and Staffordshire Moorlands. Our qualified Carer Support Workers (CSWs) provide respite and palliative services generally in the home, so that unpaid carers are able to care for longer by taking a break to revitalise themselves, so that ultimately they can spend more quality time with their families. In 2012 we became one of the one hundred and fifty affiliated members of the Carers Trust, a national network employing more than five thousand CSWs. Our aim is to assist all unpaid carers while our mission is to ensure that their contribution to society is fully recognised and appreciated. Crossroads Care Staffordshire is looking for Trustees both to build on the foundations laid down by the current board and also to develop the organisation further. Presently, we would like to recruit people of all ages who have skills in information technology, advertising and fundraising. The potential trustee needs to have an interest in supporting carers. Mentoring is given with an introduction to the staff and their roles and then board meetings take place every two months with attendance (often by Zoom) at a sub-group meeting also on every second month.
