Description:

About the Role
The Hygiene Bank works to ensure that everyone has access to basic hygiene products, challenging the idea that feeling clean should be a luxury. Through a network of community projects, donated products are collected, sorted, and distributed to charities, organisations, and schools supporting people experiencing poverty. As a Project Volunteer, you will support the Project Coordinator in running a local Hygiene Bank project.

What You'll Do
In this role, you will work as part of a team to help manage the collection, sorting, and distribution of hygiene products. This may include setting up and supporting local drop-off points, collecting donations, weighing and packing items, and distributing them to community partners. You may also help with administrative tasks such as recording collections and distributions, and communicating with partner organisations to understand their needs. There are opportunities to get involved in fundraising by organising local events or applying for grants, and to support social media by promoting the project and raising awareness of hygiene poverty. Volunteers may choose to focus on specific tasks or support across multiple areas depending on their interests.

Skills and Attributes
We are looking for people who can work as part of a team and are willing to contribute to a community-focused project. Good organisational and communication skills are helpful, along with reliability and a proactive approach. An interest in supporting others and making a difference in the community is important.

Benefits to You
This role offers the chance to gain a wide range of skills and experience, from community engagement and teamwork to administration, fundraising, and social media. You will meet new people, be part of a supportive network, and contribute to making a meaningful difference in your local area.

Training and Expenses
Guidance and support are provided by the Project Coordinator and wider Hygiene Bank team. Volunteers are encouraged to attend project updates such as town halls and stay informed through regular communications.

Commitment
Volunteer involvement is flexible and roles can be adapted to fit your availability.
