Do you have a passion to support older people in your community? Do you want to make a difference? Learn new Skills? Connect with others? Father Hudson's ‘Young at Heart’ Social Groups provide support and activities for older people who may be experiencing social isolation and loneliness.
Group: Talke Young at Heart Social Group
Venue: Talke Pits Village Hall, High Street, Talke Pits, ST7 1QQ
Time: Every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month 10am-2pm
Our Talke Young at Heart Social Group has a small team of fantastic volunteers and over 10 group members. We are looking for more volunteers to grow and keep the group going! Currently we are seeking to fill the following volunteer roles.
Group Volunteers:
To provide a friendly and supportive welcome to group members
To help run group activities
To assist with preparing and serving refreshments
To assist with washing up and cleaningTo assist with registers and raffles
To engage in conversation with group members
Skills and qualities required for Group Volunteer Role:
Professional manner reflecting the charities values.
Friendly, approachable and patient.
Good communication and listening skills.
Reliable, trustworthy, motivated and enthusiastic
Caretaker Volunteer:
To set up and pack down tables and chairs at the venue
Skills and qualities required:
Good level of health and fitness
Professional manner reflecting the charities values
Good time keeping
Reliable, trustworthy, motivated and enthusiastic
As a Volunteer you will:
Be registered with Father Hudson's volunteering scheme
Undergo a DBS check is necessary for the role.
Respect and value service users' knowledge, experiences and opinions
Adhere to Father Hudson's Care Safeguarding, confidentiality, health and safety and other relevant policies
Participate in role related trainings, meetings and events if necessary

Extra Information: Minimum age to volunteer in these roles is 18, travel expenses can be reimbursed.
