Connect with others?Father Hudson's Young at Heart Social Groups provide support and activities for older people who may be experiencing social isolation and loneliness.Group: Clayton Young at Heart Social GroupVenue: St James The Great C of E Church, Clayton Lane, Clayton, Newcastle under Lyme, ST5 3EUTime: Last Friday of the month Friday 1pm-4pmWe are excited to launch a new Young at Heart Social Group in Clayton but we need a team of volunteers in place to help get things up and running. Currently we are seeking to fill the following volunteer roles: Group Volunteers:To provide a friendly and supportive welcome to group membersTo help run group activities (quiz/bingo)To assist with preparing and serving refreshmentsTo assist with washing up and cleaningTo assist with registers and rafflesTo engage in conversation with group members Skills and qualities required for group volunteering Professional manner reflecting the charities valuesFriendly, approachable and patientGood communication and listening skillsReliable, trustworthy, motivated and enthusiastic 1 x Caretaker Volunteer:To set up and pack down tables and chairs at the venue Skills and qualities required for Caretaker Good level of health and fitnessProfessional manner reflecting the charities valuesGood time keepingReliable, trustworthy, motivated and enthusiastic As a Volunteer you will:Be registered with Father Hudson's volunteering schemeUndergo a DBS check is necessary for the role.Respect and value service users' knowledge, experiences and opinionsAdhere to Father Hudson's Care Safeguarding, confidentiality, health and safety and other relevant policiesParticipate in role related trainings, meetings and events if necessary. You will be required to have a DBS check which will be submitted by ourselves and you will be reimbursed with vehicle travel expenses.
