Established in 1985, Headway North Staffordshire is a leading centre for the rehabilitation and support of people who have survived a brain injury. An acquired brain injury (ABI) is an injury caused to the brain since birth. There are many possible causes, including a fall, a road accident, tumour and stroke. Every 90 seconds a person is admitted to hospital with an acquired brain injury. Headway North Staffordshire exists to support survivors of an acquired brain injury to live their best lives. We achieve this by providing access to physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, life skills and counselling. Requirements of the roleWe are looking for people from the public and private sector to join our board of trustees. As a trustee you will help to shape the strategic direction and ensure that the organisation remains financial sustainable. If you have skills/experience in at least one of the following areas, we would like to hear from you.Charity law and governance Marketing, media and PRHR policy and processesFundraising Finance and accountingOther skills and experience that will benefit the organisation will be considered. Additional InformationTime commitment: Typically, five to ten hours per monthsBoard Meetings: Ten per year, plus the annual general meeting
You will be required to have a DBS check which will be submitted by ourselves and you will be reimbursed with vehicle travel expenses.
