About the Role
As an MDUK Volunteer, you can support the charity in a variety of ways depending on your interests and skills. Opportunities are available across Fundraising, Events, Social Media, Public Speaking, or as an Ambassador. You will play an important role in helping supporters succeed in their fundraising and in raising awareness of Muscular Dystrophy UK locally.
What You Will Do:
Ensure supporters have the resources and guidance they need to be successful in their fundraising
Understand how best to use resources in the context of a smaller charity
Identify potential opportunities and signpost promising supporters to the Regional Development Manager (RDM)
Act as an enthusiastic ambassador for Muscular Dystrophy UK, helping to raise its local profile
Work closely with your Regional Development Manager to ensure all activities align with MDUK guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Specific Tasks May Include:
Researching potential targets for fundraising campaigns, such as schools, voluntary groups, sports clubs, and leisure centres
Building and maintaining accurate databases of contacts
Promoting fundraising opportunities by writing letters or invitations to inform contacts about events or campaigns
Preparing and sending postal mailings, including printing, stamping, and posting letters
Providing research findings and reports to the Regional Development Manager within agreed timeframes
Who This Role Is For
This role is suitable for individuals who are organised, proactive, and keen to support a meaningful cause.
You will be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, and happy to communicate with staff, volunteers, and supporters.
