Project93 was launched on the 1st December 1993 (World AIDS Day) to support people living with HIV. We operate three streams:Kaleidoscope: LGBTQ+ supportStaffordshire Buddies: HIV supportSexual Wellbeing Hub: Sexual wellbeing and healthy relationships.The charity offers counselling, support groups, education and training, prevention and testing, as well as our own LGBTQ+ accreditation. We work with schools, local businesses, prisons and other Staffordshire-based organisations to deliver our offerings. Our mission is to provide support, advice and education to everyone around sexuality, gender, HIV and sexual wellbeing within Staffordshire, to enable a greater understanding and acceptance of everyone's differences. Roles and Responsibilities:The time commitment for this role is approximately 1 to 2 hours per month to attend regular board meetings (frequency may vary based on the charity's needs). As a lived experience Trustee, you will be a vital voice on our board, representing the lived experiences of individuals within the LGBTQ+ community or those affected by HIV and sexual wellbeing challenges. Your unique understanding will help us foster a more empathetic and inclusive environment while ensuring our services meet the diverse needs of those we serve. As a lived experience Trustee, you will:Advocate for the rights and well-being of individuals in the LGBTQ+ community or those affected by HIV and sexual wellbeing issues.Contribute your lived experiences to the development of our charity's strategic goals and objectives.Help build stronger connections with the LGBTQ+ community and other relevant communities.Provide valuable insights to enhance the effectiveness of our support services and outreach programs.Participate in board meetings and contribute to decision-making processes with your unique perspective.Work to ensure that the charity's initiatives are inclusive and responsive to the diverse needs of our beneficiaries. Skills and Experience DesiredPersonal experience and understanding of the challenges faced by LGBTQ+ individuals or those affected by HIV and sexual wellbeing concerns.A passion for advocating for the rights and well-being of these communities. Strong communication skills and the ability to represent diverse perspectives.
