Description:Advocacy Volunteer Role
Family focus Staffs provides a free and independent advocacy service for parents and carers living in Stoke on Trent. We aim to ensure that all families are aware of their rights and have their views and wishes heard, ensuring that they and their children can access the support and services they are entitled to.
Your main duties include:
Supporting parents and carers to understand Child in Need and Child Protection processes and procedures. Supporting parents and carers to understand family court processes and procedures
Supporting parenting to attend Child Protection conferences, Court hearings, Looked After Children reviews, Care Plan meetings, contact with children.
You will receive full advocacy and Safeguarding training as well ongoing supervision and support.
You will be required to have a DBS check which will be submitted by ourselves and you will be reimbursed with vehicle travel expenses.
