Additional Needs Activity Volunteer At Family Focus
We aim to ensure that each child in Stoke on Trent has the love, skills and resources to reach their full potential. In this role you will be supporting Family Focus Staffs provide activities designed to enable children with additional needs develop resilience, access positive opportunities and make new friends.
Your main duties include:
Helping children and young people access play and leisure activities in the community.
Assisting with the planning of activities and play sessions.
Engaging children and young people to make choices and encourage new experiences.
Work within the health and safety guidance ensuring that the children in your care can safely enjoy each activities. Work during early evenings, weekends and school holidays.
Skills you will develop within this role:
An understanding of the needs of children with disabilities and young people.
Knowledge of activities which are appropriate to children and young people.
Experience of direct work with children and young people with additional needs.
Ability to communicate and work well with others.
Be comfortable working in a Team or on your own.
