Fundraising Ambassador (Volunteer) - North Staffs Mind

 

Role Summary
As a Fundraising Ambassador, you will support the Fundraising Team to deliver a range of fundraising activities, including community events, corporate events, and fundraising stalls, across Staffordshire.
You will represent North Staffs Mind at events, supporting with set‑up, delivery, and pack‑down, while engaging with the public and promoting the charity’s services. Volunteers work alongside paid staff members and as part of a wider team. This is a developmental role, offering opportunities to gain experience in event delivery, public engagement, and mental health awareness.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Support the creation, facilitation, and delivery of community and corporate fundraising events
Work within groups of varying sizes
Support event facilitators to create a safe, engaging, and well‑managed environment
Assist with setting up and closing down events, including physical tasks such as gazebos and tables
Engage with members of the public and explain North Staffs Mind services
Demonstrate good organisation and communication skills
Work as part of a team to ensure events run smoothly
Take part in feedback sessions and contribute openly
Maintain appropriate boundaries and report any concerns to the facilitator
Follow health and safety procedures to ensure the wellbeing of yourself, clients, staff, and volunteers
Collect donations responsibly in line with ethical fundraising policies
Follow North Staffs Mind policies and procedures, including confidentiality and safeguarding
Work in line with the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice (2018)
Carry out other appropriate duties to support the successful running of events


Commitment: Minimum 3 events per financial year
Remuneration: This is a voluntary role. Reasonable out‑of‑pocket expenses will be reimbursed in line with the Volunteer Policy.


Locations

Events take place at various locations across Staffordshire


Personal Specification

Passion for supporting North Staffs Mind and engaging with the public
Confidence supporting and delivering events
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Willingness to support facilitators as required
Confidence engaging professionally with the public and venue staff
Ability to recognise and report concerns appropriately
Basic understanding of emotional wellbeing and mental health
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to undertake physical activity for event set‑up and pack‑down
Trustworthiness when handling donations
Honesty when providing feedback
Reliability and punctuality when committing to events
Willingness to represent the charity positively at all times
