About the Role
Collab Training Academy CIC (CTA) is a not-for-profit organisation supporting young people and adults facing complex needs and barriers, including those from low socio-economic backgrounds, SEND and NEET groups. The organisation focuses on personal development, education, training and employment pathways, using a collaborative approach to create positive outcomes. This role offers the opportunity to join the board as a Volunteer Non-Executive Director.
What You'll Do
You will provide an independent perspective on governance, operations and strategy, working closely with the Founding Director and CEO. The role includes supporting organisational procedures, contributing to decision-making and helping ensure the organisation’s aims and objectives are met. You will offer advice and guidance based on your experience, contribute to marketing and communication strategies, support fundraising through sponsorship and donations, and take part in team meetings. You may also contribute to programme evaluation, organisational development and stakeholder engagement.
Skills and Attributes
You should have strong listening skills and the ability to contribute constructively to discussions. A willingness to challenge appropriately, assess performance and consider risks is important. You should be collaborative, enthusiastic and committed to a person-led approach. Creative thinking, problem-solving and relationship-building skills are valued. Previous board experience is helpful but not required, and applications are welcomed from first-time Non-Executive Directors and individuals with lived experience in education, training and employment sectors.

Training and Support
Support will be provided to help you understand the organisation, its processes and your responsibilities as a Non-Executive Director.
