Description:

About the Role
Community Grocery Burslem is more than a grocery store. It is a place where people can access affordable food and become part of a supportive community. When individuals sign up as members, they become part of our grocery family. We are looking for volunteers who want to make a difference by supporting our members and building positive relationships with them.

What You'll Do
As a volunteer, you may support a range of activities within the grocery. This includes helping with deliveries and stocking shelves, which may involve some heavy lifting. You might also assist on the till, take payments, help customers pack their shopping, and welcome and chat with members to create a friendly environment. There are also opportunities to support the setup of courses for grocery members. There are many roles available, and tasks can vary depending on the needs of the day.

Skills and Attributes
We are looking for people who are approachable, willing to help, and interested in supporting others within the community. You should be comfortable working as part of a team and engaging with members in a welcoming and inclusive way. No prior experience is required.

Benefits to You
This is an opportunity to be part of a community-focused environment, meet new people, and make a positive difference to the lives of grocery members. You can gain experience across a variety of tasks in a supportive setting.

Training and Expenses
No formal training is required to get started, and guidance will be provided to support you in your role.

Hours
The grocery is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm. Any amount of time you can give is appreciated.
