About the Role
Girlguiding Staffordshire runs units on every weeknight across Stoke-on-Trent, offering opportunities to get involved with Rainbows (aged 4–7), Brownies (aged 7–10), Guides (aged 10–14) and Rangers (aged 14–18). We are looking for volunteers to support across these age groups, helping to deliver activities and provide an extra pair of hands at our sessions.

What You'll Do
As a volunteer, you will support girls in building confidence, taking part in activities, and learning new skills. You may help run weekly unit meetings, support special events, or assist behind the scenes. Opportunities are flexible, meaning you can get involved as often as suits you, whether regularly or occasionally. You may also choose to develop your own skills through leadership qualifications, first aid training, or outdoor activity instruction.

Skills and Attributes
No previous experience in guiding is required. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds, regardless of how much time they can offer. Anyone aged 13 and over can get involved, including young leaders, Duke of Edinburgh participants, peer educators, students, parents, and those looking to build experience for the future. A willingness to support and inspire young people is all that’s needed.

Benefits to You
Volunteering with Girlguiding is a chance to meet new people, take a break from your daily routine, and build new skills. You can gain leadership experience, develop practical qualifications, and contribute to helping girls grow in confidence and independence. There are roles to suit a wide range of interests and availability.

Training and Expenses
Opportunities are available to take part in leadership development qualifications, first aid training, and outdoor activity instruction.

Who Can Volunteer
Anyone can volunteer. There is no requirement to have been involved in guiding before. Roles are open to people of all backgrounds, including disabled people, LGBTQ+ people, people of colour, and those of all religions or none. While some roles are women-only, there are also opportunities available for men. Flexible options are available, including parent rotas, skill-sharing, event support, and regular volunteering.

You will be required to have a DBS check which will be submitted by ourselves and you will be reimbursed with vehicle travel expenses.
