Digital Communications / Social Media Volunteer

Are you interested in social media, websites, and online engagement?
Would you like to use your skills to support health and social care organisations?
ECS / Healthwatch is looking for a Digital Communications / Social Media Volunteer to support our online presence and help us reach a wider and more diverse audience.

 

Purpose of the Role
To support ECS / Healthwatch with managing social media channels and the website by reviewing, creating, and sharing content.

 

Key Tasks

Support staff to develop and maintain a digital communications and social media plan
Create and review content for social media and the website
Encourage engagement by inviting people to comment on and share posts
Help ensure communications reach a wide range of local stakeholders and diverse audiences
Identify new digital channels to reach different audiences
Promote events and news
Monitor social media and respond to comments or queries
Upload and manage website content
Monitor and schedule social media using Hootsuite

The role will be completed primarily from home

We will work closely with you to ensure the role fits around your personal and social commitments


Experience and Knowledge

Understanding of different types of marketing and social media communications and their audiences
Ability to work as part of a team
Experience using Microsoft Office, including Word
Access to the internet and email
Good communication skills
Ability to produce and upload website content
Experience monitoring social media using Hootsuite
Ability to use your own initiative
Respect for confidentiality
