Enter and View Authorised Representative Volunteer - Healthwatch

 

Purpose of the Role
Under Healthwatch regulations, local Healthwatch organisations have a statutory power that enables Authorised Representatives to carry out Enter and View visits to health and social care settings while services are being delivered, and to report on what they observe.
As a volunteer in this role, you will help gather views and experiences of people using services and contribute to reports that may recommend changes or improvements.

 

Key Tasks
As an Enter and View Authorised Representative Volunteer, you will:

Attend mandatory Healthwatch training required for the role
Attend group support sessions when appropriate
Take part in Enter and View planning and review meetings
Visit locations where health and social care services are provided
Observe how services are delivered and how people experience them
Keep clear notes during visits
Contribute to written reports outlining findings and, where appropriate, recommendations for change

The role will be based wherever pre‑planned meetings and Enter and View visits take place

Experience and Knowledge

Ability to write clearly and contribute to written reports
Some knowledge or understanding of health and social care services
Ability to work as part of a team
Experience using Microsoft Office, including Word
Access to the internet and email
Ability to communicate with people in diverse and inclusive ways
Good interpersonal skills, including listening and conversation skills
A non‑judgmental approach and commitment to treating everyone with dignity and respect
Reliability and punctuality
Respect for confidentiality at all times

You will be required to have a DBS check which will be submitted by ourselves and you will be reimbursed with vehicle travel expenses.
