About the Role
As a Healthwatch Champion / Ambassador Volunteer, you will support Healthwatch by acting as the eyes and ears within your local community. You will help raise awareness of Healthwatch’s work while sharing feedback from the public about their experiences of Health and Social Care services.

 

What You'll Do
In this role, you will act as a positive ambassador, supporting Healthwatch by gathering people’s experiences of Health and Social Care services. You will help share information about Healthwatch by distributing leaflets and engaging with local groups and venues. You may also use online platforms to connect with people, share updates, and encourage engagement. The role involves acting as a link between Healthwatch, community groups, organisations, and members of the public, while supporting efforts to improve services.

 

Skills and Attributes
You should have good communication skills and be able to work as part of a team as well as use your own initiative. Confidence in using online platforms and basic Microsoft Office skills, including Word, are helpful. You will need access to the internet and email and be comfortable volunteering from home when needed. An understanding of different audiences and online communication is beneficial, along with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

Training and Expenses
You will receive a full induction, along with ongoing training and support from staff. There will also be opportunities to get involved in additional activities. A DBS check will be carried out as part of the role.

 

Location and Commitment
The role is based within your local community and can also involve volunteering from home using online platforms. The commitment is ongoing, with flexibility to fit around your personal and social commitments.

You will be required to have a DBS check which will be submitted by ourselves and you will be reimbursed with vehicle travel expenses.
