If you enjoy working with people and creating attractive shop displays using a constantly changing range of stock — from books to clothing — this role could be for you.
Our Retail Volunteers are the welcoming face of the Mind Shop and play a vital role in keeping the shop running smoothly and professionally.
About the Role
Retail volunteers are often the first point of contact for customers. You’ll help create a welcoming environment, maintain high standards on the shop floor, and support the day‑to‑day running of the store.
Full training is provided.
Main Duties
Keeping the shop floor and stock room organised, clean, and tidy
Ensuring all products are clean, presentable, and in the correct place
Maintaining and creating window displays as stock changes
Delivering great customer service by greeting and assisting customers
Representing Mind in a friendly and professional manner
Assisting with shop social media (if desired)
Accompanying van drivers on furniture collections and deliveries
Skills Required
Friendly, engaging personality
Clear and confident verbal communication
Good punctuality and excellent timekeeping
Experience
No experience required
Customer service or retail experience is helpful but not essential
Minimum age: 16+
Time Commitment
Shop opening hours:
Monday – Saturday: 9:00am – 5:00pm
Sunday: 10:00am – 4:00pm
Volunteers usually work at least once a week
We can accommodate volunteers on most days, particularly Wednesday to Sunday, but are happy to consider availability on other days
