We are looking for Keep in Touch (KIT) Caller Volunteers to support older people who may be experiencing isolation due to health issues, life changes, or reduced confidence. Through regular telephone calls, you will help build trusted relationships and provide emotional support, helping individuals stay connected, independent, and supported in their daily lives.

What You'll Do
As a volunteer, you will make regular weekly telephone calls to individuals, offering friendly conversation and a listening ear. You will help provide reassurance, companionship, and a sense of connection, while also supporting individuals by reminding them about important aspects of daily living such as medication, appointments, and wellbeing. Skills and Attributes
You should have good listening and communication skills, along with empathy and an interest in supporting older people. A non-judgemental approach, reliability, and the ability to maintain confidentiality are essential. An understanding of how life events can affect wellbeing is helpful, and a willingness to learn about local support services is beneficial. Volunteers must be aged 18 or over.

Benefits to You
Volunteering offers the opportunity to build confidence, develop new skills, and gain experience that can support your CV. You will meet new people, be part of a supportive team, and experience the satisfaction of making a positive difference in someone’s life and reducing isolation in your community.

You will receive full training, including mandatory sessions covering areas such as safeguarding, confidentiality, and boundaries. Training can be completed in one session or split over multiple sessions, either in person or via Zoom. Ongoing support is provided by a dedicated staff member.
