You can find out more about the scheme here; VAST Volunteering Quality Standards - VAST | Providing professional services for voluntary and community groups | Staffordshire To drive those vehicles belonging to Community Link Stafford and District (CLSD) which, carry clients to and from their places of residence to their destination, in a manner which is safe and efficient and in keeping with CLSD policies and procedures as well as comfortable for all passengers. Erratic driving styles or excess speed shall be avoided at all costs. To assist where necessary with client ingress and egress of the vehicles by using the vehicle tail lift or steps. Ensure that clients are seated securely and safely and that all safety measures and systems are properly applied. To comply with all regulations governing the operation of passenger transport and the policies of CLSDEnsure that vehicle daily checks are carried out and that vehicles are in a roadworthy condition before each day's activitiesEnsure vehicle has sufficient fuel, oil and water for the duties of the dayReport any defects that arise during daily checksReport any Accidents or Incidents that occur during a shiftKeep the vehicle interiors clean and tidyMaintain, Worksheets and checklistsMeet/deliver clients at/from their door, and escort onto/off vehicles taking into account any disability of difficulties in mobility needs applying the same care at destinations.Ensure that whenever or wherever a vehicle is left unattended it is secure and in a safe positionObey all national and local speed or vehicle restrictionsUndertake any training that may be required to carry out the duties of the jobPositively contribute to the awareness of Health and Safety of colleagues and clients
