Location: British Heart Foundation Furniture & Electrical Store Warehouse
Campbell Place, London Road, Stoke‑on‑Trent, ST4 1NA
Availability needed: Afternoons, 1:00pm – 5:00pm (priority)


About the Role
We are looking for Volunteer Warehouse Operatives to support our busy furniture store warehouse. This is a physically active role that helps keep stock moving efficiently between the van, warehouse and shop floor. Your support will help raise vital funds for the British Heart Foundation and contribute to reducing waste by supporting reuse and recycling.
This role is particularly needed in the afternoons between 1pm and 5pm, when demand is highest.


What You’ll Be Doing
Typical tasks include:

Safely lifting and carrying furniture items by hand (large and small)
Loading and unloading furniture between the van, warehouse and shop floor
Preparing customer deliveries and handling incoming van deliveries
Keeping the warehouse clean, safe and well organised
Re‑stocking the shop floor as items are sold
Building flat‑pack furniture for display
Carrying out light furniture repairs (if confident, alongside the Warehouse Supervisor)
Booking in and pricing stock
Testing electrical items
Acting as an ambassador for the British Heart Foundation

There are opportunities to try different warehouse‑based tasks depending on your interests and skills.


What We’re Looking For

Reliable volunteers who enjoy active, practical work
Ability to safely carry items by hand
Willingness to work as part of a team
Volunteers aged 16 or over

Please note: we are unable to accept volunteers with unspent criminal convictions or those subject to criminal registers or orders.
