Collection Box Volunteer
Dougie Mac Hospice – North Staffordshire
Could you — or someone you know — spare a little time to support Dougie Mac Hospice? This is a great opportunity to get out and about, meet people, and make a real difference in your local community.
Our Collection Box Volunteers help raise thousands of pounds for the hospice by collecting donation boxes from shops, pubs, and local businesses across North Staffordshire.

Why Does Dougie Mac Need You?
Volunteers are absolutely vital to the work of Dougie Mac. Without their commitment, we simply couldn’t continue to provide or fund our essential hospice services. Every collection box you empty directly helps us support patients and families when they need it most.
One of the most rewarding parts of this role is feeling the weight of the boxes, filled with spare change donated by our amazing supporters.

What You’ll Be Doing

Collecting donation boxes from local shops and business premises
Chatting with staff and thanking them for their support
Returning collected funds as agreed

You can choose to volunteer on an ad‑hoc basis or take on a regular collection round. A “round” is usually based around a high street or local area, but locations vary.

Time Commitment

Completely flexible
Ideal if you like to manage your own time
Fits easily around other commitments

What You’ll Need

Access to your own transport
A friendly, approachable manner
Enjoy chatting to people
Some spare time and a willingness to help

If you enjoy being out in the community and want that feel‑good moment of knowing you’re bringing much
