Description:

Hospital Welcome Volunteer
University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust
We are looking for reliable and caring volunteers to help welcome and support patients and visitors within the hospital, in line with University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust policy on working with volunteers (HR05).
This role plays an important part in helping people feel comfortable, supported, and welcomed during their time in hospital.

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities
Specific Duties

Meet and greet users of the service and provide a warm welcome
Offer refreshments to patients throughout the day
Keep the area tidy and welcoming
Run errands on behalf of the department
Befriend and assist patients during their visit

 

General Responsibilities

Be patient, sympathetic, and able to empathise with patients and members of the public
Communicate clearly and respectfully
Attend on a regular basis and be reliable and dependable
Be committed to the volunteer role
Follow infection control guidance and maintain good hygiene practice at all times


Skills & Qualities Needed

Friendly and approachable manner
Good communication skills
Compassion and understanding
Reliability and commitment
Awareness of cleanliness and infection control

You will be required to have a DBS check which will be submitted by ourselves and you will be reimbursed with vehicle travel expenses.
