Home-Start believe every parent should have the support they need to give their children a better future. A lot of families face challenges at one time or another and sometimes they need a helping hand to regain their confidence, independence and resilience to be the best they can be.
Through a network of local, fully trained family support volunteers, we offer families non-judgemental, confidential and compassionate support to help them through their challenging times. Home-Start Newcastle Borough are there for parents when they need them the most, because childhood can’t wait.
Family Support Volunteer
Family support volunteers offer friendship, guidance and parenting advice through both practical and emotional support to families with children aged 11 years and under. This support is delivered through a mixture of home visiting and telephone calls, where volunteers use their experience and understating of the pressures of parenting to provide focused support which meets the needs of the family.
Plenty of training will be provided and you will be required to have a DBS check which will be submitted by ourselves and you will be reimbursed with vehicle travel expenses.
