A VAST Case Study
Empowering As One CIC to Secure Funding and Strengthen Community Impact
With no prior grant application experience, As One CIC’s founder attended VAST’s workshops on funding and bid writing. Guided by VAST’s training and detailed feedback on their application, they refined their proposal to meet funder priorities. The funding has enabled As One CIC to expand their reach and impact within the community, allowing them to connect more individuals to essential services and increase their support capacity.
As One CIC, a Stoke-on-Trent social enterprise supporting adults facing social and economic challenges, secured a £17,000 grant from the National Lottery Community Fund with VAST’s help. This funding enabled them to launch a 12-month project connecting vulnerable individuals to vital services, improving their well-being and quality of life.
Founder Simon expressing gratitude, said: “You gave me essential feedback, allowing me to reflect and refine my application. I knew what I wanted to do, and what my heart wanted to say, but you helped me to be heard. I hope we continue to build upon this success for the benefit of all those in need.”
Following this success, As One CIC plans to collaborate further with VAST to explore additional funding opportunities and sustain their vital work in the community.
