Dougie Mac
Every year, Dougie Mac provides all hospice services free of charge to local people of all ages with life-limiting illnesses in Stoke-on-Trent, North Staffordshire and the surrounding villages; also offering supportive care for their families and carers.
From making delicious cups of tea and counting money, to offering a listening ear and sorting charity shop donations; Dougie Mac couldn’t do what they do without them.

Shop Volunteers
Dougie Mac has 21 shops in the area that need your help!
Current vacancies are available in most shops including: Alsager, Burslem, Bradwell, Cheadle & Meir.
No previous retail experience required.
Wellbeing Buddy Volunteers
These volunteers visit patients’ homes to provide companionship and help to support the patient and their family.
Events Volunteers
This role involves tasks such as:
- Meet and greet on registration desk,
- Giving out merchandise, medals etc.,
- Marshalling,
- Cheering on event participants, and
- Helping to set up and pack down events.
Dementia Group Volunteers
Volunteers needed for activity and carer support groups.
These volunteers help to ensure the smooth running of group sessions for people with dementia, which take place regularly across multiple venues in North Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.
