At Our Best for Cared For Children and Care Leavers: a VCSE City Alliance market co-production opportunity

Stoke-on-Trent and VAST are working together to offer this early-stage sector engagement event, where we’ll be exploring how VCSE sector strengths can best be brought into play over the next two years to help make Stoke-on-Trent the best city it can be for cared-for children and care leavers

Specifically, the City Council is considering the creation of a Corporate Parenting Partnership Lead role, with the option of commissioning this from the VCSE sector rather than recruiting directly into the Local Authority workforce.

The session will be a timely opportunity for VCSE organisations to find out more about the City Council’s intentions and aspirations for this role, as well as helping to shape next steps and finesse the Council’s overall approach..

At this session, we will be supporting a cross-sector dialogue that will enable us to understand VCSE organisations’ perspectives in the following key areas:

  • What model and approach are required to make this approach a success?
  • How can this role best unlock the strengths and opportunities in the city more widely, enabling us to support the most ambitious outcomes for cared-for children and care leavers?
  • What would a successful approach look like, from a VCSE perspective?

Please confirm your place at the session (maximum one per VCSE organisation) by booking in advance. Bookings can be made here.

The VCSE City Alliance is a set of working principles adopted by the sector and the local authority, to guide our work together, and also supports the aims of the Civil Society Covenant nationally.
