'If you start with kind, you've won' | Healthwatch Reports

Healthwatch SOT have a new report out“If you start with kind, you’ve won” | Healthwatch Stokeontrent. It looks at parents’ and carers’ experiences of waiting for their child to be assessed for Autism or ADHD.

“If you start with kind, you’ve won”

That’s what a parent of three children told Healthwatch whilst in conversation about improving services for young people suspected of having Autism and/or ADHD; “If you start with kind, you’ve won”

This report feeds back on the experience of referring a child or young person for an Autism and/or ADHD assessment. It also explores issues with services for children and young people who have a Special Educational Need and Disability (SEND).

There’s also a free workshop on 23/7 exploring issues that came out of the report – things like trust and support. It’s being facilitated by Steve Mitchell and Inter Theatre. There are virtually no presentations, it will all be theatre sketches and interactive ‘games’.

Healthwatch have created a booking page for the workshop with more information and details of how to book your place on the workshop: Children & Young People: Autism and ADHD + Annual General Meeting (AGM) Tickets, Thursday, July 23  •  1 PM – 3:30 PM | Eventbrite
