Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care System

Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care System, which includes our partner organisations working in health and local authorities, identified a number of areas where we want to drive forward improvements for Children and Young People. The Children and Young People’s Programme Board developed its Strategic Framework(opens in new window) which sets out the five priority areas which as a system will be the focus of our work over the next five years (2023-2028).

Following approval of the Strategic Framework document we took the opportunity to hold an event in November 23(opens in new window) to update our Stakeholders on these priorities and the work that had happened to date.

The 5 priority areas are:

  1. Best start in life: improve the survival of babies and young children to reduce infant mortality
  2. Increase the number of children and young people to achieve and sustain a healthy weight
  3. Support children to achieve their potential by enjoying good emotional wellbeing and positive mental health
  4. Support children with complex needs with the help they need so that they can fulfil their potential
  5. Effectively manage long term conditions to reduce avoidable admissions for asthma, epilepsy, and diabetes

Following the November meeting the Children and Young People Programme Board members have agreed to hold an annual Childrens & Young People’s event. This year we are aligning this with World Childrens Day, this takes place on Wednesday 20th November 2024.

We want the event to be as successful as possible and as such would like our children and young people to contribute to the development of the event and to seek your views on what would be useful and impactful. Please answer the following questions to help us plan the key topics for this event.

This survey will close on Friday 11 October 2024.
