Draft Economic Development Strategy Consultation
We want your feedback on a new Economic Development strategy which aims to boost our city’s economy and improve everyone’s wellbeing over the next 10 years.
The new draft strategy aims to build on the council’s Our City, Our Wellbeing Corporate Strategy, focusing on skills, employment, health and wellbeing and economic hardship, as well as using community wealth building to increase the flow of wealth back to local places, organisations and businesses.
Draft Economic Development Strategy vision:
“A city where businesses and communities flourish and residents can enjoy the benefits of better work, higher wages and improved quality of life”
The plan focuses on several key themes:
- Helping businesses grow: We’ll provide support for businesses to invest, innovate and create more good jobs.
- Smarter procurement: We’ll make sure that the way we spend money on goods and services benefits both the economy and local communities.
- Working together: We’ll collaborate with businesses and residents to find solutions to local challenges.
- Better jobs for all: We’ll promote good quality jobs and help people develop their skills and find work that pays well.
Revitalising town centres: We’ll make our high streets and town centres more vibrant and attractive.
We want to hear from you! Residents, businesses, and community groups are all invited to share their thoughts on the plan. This is your chance to help shape a brighter future for Stoke-on-Trent.
This consultation close on Friday 16 August.
Please take the time to read the Draft Economic Development Strategy before completing the short questionnaire.
