Just a reminder that North Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Clinical Commissioning Group’s (CCGs) major consultation on the Future of Local Health Services is underway and open until 17th March 2019.
The consultation is seeking local people’s views on proposed changes to:
- Community-based services in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Moorlands
- Community hospital rehabilitation and NHS care home beds
- Some of the consultant-led outpatients clinics such as outpatients appointments for skin conditions.
All the information about the consultation, including the consultation document and all the background materials, along with a link to complete the consultation online, can be found on the microsite: https://www.healthservicesnorthstaffs.nhs.uk/
There are a number of key ways that voluntary sector organisations can get involved. The CCGs are keen to hear responses to the proposals from the perspective of local voluntary sector organisations. As such, in addition to the events listed on the microsite, VAST and Support Staffordshire would like to invite you to feed into this important consultation at an event at The Dudson Centre on Tuesday 26th February at 10am. To book your place at this session please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Secondly it is really important to gain the views of as many people as possible as these changes may impact many local people, their families, their friends or people who are carers. In particular the CCGs are keen to hear from vulnerable groups in addition to groups with protected characteristics. These include people from lower socioeconomic groups, homeless and other groups that may experience disadvantage. Your role in supporting these groups is crucial and the CCGs would like your support to ensure they can gather their views. There are a number of focus groups left before the consultation closes and your help in encouraging your service users to attend would be appreciated.
If you know someone who would like to attend please ask them to book onto a focus group by emailing email@example.com or calling 01782 298 002. You can request promotional materials and information leaflets from the same contacts.
