The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) have launched the region’s first Natural Environment Awards, sponsored by KPMG, to celebrate the successes of organisations on restoring and protecting nature. The awards are open for businesses, educational institutions, public sector bodies and community groups to apply for.

The awards aim to recognise organisations and projects that have showcased their commitment and enthusiasm for creating and improving our greenspaces as well as our rivers and canals, not only for environmental benefits but also for the enjoyment of the local community.

This can could be an organisation who has created a wellbeing garden for service users, or a charity who have led community canal clearance and planting days.

Applications are open now until the 16th January 2023 with the award ceremony taking place on Tuesday 21st March 2023, with awards presented by Andy Street, Mayor of the West Midlands.
