We’re recruiting new Trustees to join the board of Newcastle Community Transport CIO and help shape the future of the organisation.
The Role
As a Trustee, you will help guide the long‑term direction, resilience, and influence of the charity. You’ll bring strategic insight, strengthen external connections, and support the organisation to grow its reach, partnerships, and sustainability within the community.
What You’ll Do
Shape Strategy & Growth
Play an active role in setting and challenging the organisation’s strategic direction, ensuring a clear focus on sustainability and meaningful community impact.
Governance & Oversight
Support strong governance and compliance, review performance information, ask constructive questions, and help turn complexity into clear actions.
Influence & Advocacy
Act as an ambassador for the organisation, using your experience and networks to raise its profile and support relationships with funders, partners, and stakeholders.
Insight & Funding Narrative
Help present the organisation’s impact clearly, translating data and operational insight into credible, accessible messages for funders and partners.
Collaborative Decision‑Making
Contribute calmly and constructively to board discussions, helping navigate challenges and make informed strategic decisions.
Time Commitment
Trustees are asked to attend meetings and contribute approximately 8 hours per week in support of the charity’s work.
