Retail Volunteer – Barnardo’s Charity Shops


Join Barnardo’s as a Retail Volunteer and help make a real difference to the lives of children, young people, and families across the UK.
Our vibrant and diverse team of volunteers supports the running of over 500–600 charity shops nationwide. These stores are at the heart of local communities, raising vital funds through the sale of donated and new goods.

 

About the Role
As a Retail Volunteer, you will play an important role in ensuring our shops run smoothly and look welcoming for customers. You will be a friendly face on the high street, contributing to a positive shopping experience.

 

Key Responsibilities

Operate the till, processing sales and handling returns
Prepare stock by sorting, steaming, and pricing items
Create attractive and stylish window displays
Replenish and organise stock on the shop floor
Support with stock-taking and basic administrative tasks

Enthusiasm for working as part of a team of staff and volunteers
Interest in supporting the work of Barnardo’s
Flexibility and willingness to assist with a variety of shop duties

Time Commitment
We ideally ask for one shift per week, but we are flexible and will work around your availability.
