Description:Your work as a volunteer helps The Salvation Army's vital work with vulnerable people. If you want to play a part in helping others whilst volunteering for a fantastic charity, we have a variety of roles you can choose from. You can even try multiple roles to learn different tasks and find out what you enjoy! We need volunteers Monday - Saturday at our Donation Centre at Springfields Retail Park, Newcastle Road, ST4 6PD. The volunteer roles (minimum age 14)Media Volunteer – Music and Entertainment Do you enjoy music, film and games? If you do, we need your help. We are looking for knowledgeable people to support our team and help sort, price, research and display our donations of games, DVDs and music.Volunteer Sort Room Assistant - Are you an organised person who likes things to be neat and tidy? Whether you are a lover of vintage clothing, stunning jewellery or enjoy reading and gaming, this is the role for you.Volunteer Sales Assistant - Do you like chatting to people? Could you talk about our Gift Aid scheme to customers bringing in donations? If so, we would love you to join our team. Our volunteer assistants like making customers feel welcome as well as assisting them with the purchase of their items.Book Volunteer - We need a bookworm to help keep the books organised and looking professional on the sales floor. We have so many donated, we need help to sort, price, research, display and keep the shop floor full.Volunteer Jewellery & Accessories Specialist - Are you always looking for that perfect piece of jewellery or the matching bag and shoes or changing the look of an outfit by adding a scarf? If so, we would love your expertise and support in our shops to select, price and display our lovely selection of accessories.Bric-a-Brac Volunteer - Are you interested in unusual items and antiques? If this sounds interesting to you then help us to select, price and create displays of our wonderful and unusual donated items.Volunteer Key Holder - Are you looking to gain experience in the retail sector? Or, do you have previous retail experience that you could put to use? Join us and make a difference supporting the great work of The Salvation Army.Drivers Mate - Accompany our Drivers with collections and deliveries, helping with manual handler and transporting goods.Social Media Volunteer - Are you interested in social media? Do you use platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat etc.? If so, we would love your support to change the world with us by reinventing charity for generations to come - join our team of passionate world-changing visionaries.
