Volunteer with the Sea Cadets!
The Sea Cadets are a national youth organisation for young people aged 10–18. Each unit operates as a stand‑alone charity and relies on volunteers to help it run smoothly and safely.
We’re currently looking for volunteers for the following roles:
Admin Officer (Civilian Role)
The Admin Officer supports the unit by helping with day‑to‑day administration.
Key Details
Civilian (non‑uniformed) position
Some admin tasks can be completed at home
Volunteers use their own suitable IT
Full training provided
Flexible volunteering to fit around your availability
Uniformed Instructors – Junior Cadets
Uniformed instructors work with Junior Cadets aged 10–12.
Key Details
Teaching follows a nationally agreed syllabus
Full training provided before instructing
Sessions focus on structured learning and development
Time Commitment
Flexible volunteering
Minimum commitment: once every two weeks
The unit meets twice a week for 2 hours in the evening
Many instructors choose to attend more often, but this is optional
