Description:Our site is a little gem in the North of the county, nestling in the beautiful countryside of North Staffordshire yet only 8 miles from the conurbations of Newcastle under Lyme and Stoke on Trent is the Copeland Cottage Brownie and Guide Camp site owned by Guiding Divisions in Stoke, Longton and Newcastle. The site includes a pack holiday cottage, chalet, camping field, adventure play area and ancient woodland. The facilities are in regular use, the cottage is used all year round, usually at weekends and occasionally longer during school holidays. The Camp site is used at weekends and school holidays during the season. We have a number of volunteers involved in the management and maintenance of the site but we are always looking for more helpers. Our whole site is run by volunteers, and with so much to do there is something for everyone! You can support us in so many ways, some of these include:Fundraising - this can be general fundraising or for specific projects or items.We have a fantastic team of volunteers who make crafts and souvenirs for us to sell to visitors, if you are interested in joining them, please get in touch!Gardening working parties - including tending our fruit crops, weeding beds and maintaining pathways.Decorating indoors and outdoors!Housekeeping including tidying board games and helping with our spring cleansRepairing and maintaining fences and footpaths, and cutting hedgesHelping out with catering support at events This role is flexible, and even just a few hours each month would make a huge difference.
