Healthwatch
Purpose of the Role
The purpose of this volunteer role is to help spread the word about Healthwatch and gather people’s views and experiences of local Health and Social Care services. Your input will help make sure that local voices are heard and used to improve services.
What You’ll Be Doing
Working with staff to reach different community groups and gather their views
Attending engagement planning activities with volunteers and staff
Supporting engagement and information stands in community locations such as:
Hospitals
GP surgeries
Dental practices
Talking with members of the public and listening to their experiences
Feeding back views and experiences to Healthwatch
Helping to carry out surveys and local consultations
Where
In community locations where engagement takes place
Using online platforms where appropriate

Skills, Experience & Qualities
Able to write clearly when feeding back people’s experiences
Passionate about improving local health and social care services
Comfortable working as part of a team
Experience using Microsoft Word
Access to the internet and email
Able to respect confidentiality at all times
Confident using initiative and asking for support when needed
Able to communicate with a wide range of audiences in different ways
Good listening and interpersonal skills
Non‑judgmental and respectful of everyone’s dignity
Reliable and punctual
